New Facebook Version For Jailbroken iPhones Released

by Ferman Aziz

If you have a jailbroken iPhone, you might have experienced some difficulty in logging in to Facebook occasionally. Not any more. The app has a new version out, 3.2.2, which fixes the issue for jailbroken devices.

You can go to your Updates tab in your iPhone’s App Store application and download the new version. The issue was brought to the notice of the app developers on the app’s official facebook page and they responded with the new version to fix the problem.

The updated version carries the new Facebook Places icon but shows a message saying that Places for iPhone is currently available in the US only. It promises to bring it to the rest of the world saying, “We’re working on making this available in other countries soon.”

It’s strange that Facebook Places was initially available for users outside the US who could view other users’ checkins too. Now it’s a US only service for at least a few days more. You can keep checking back to see when the message saying “This feature will be available in your region soon” becomes a reality.
