Pakistan officially lifted the Lahore High Court ordered ban on Facebook early Monday after Facebook officials apologized and assured of stricter control over hurtful and offensive content in future. The offensive pages will remain blocked. The ban ordered on the 19th of May was to be carried out till the 31st so Facebook was not restored when Youtube, Wikipedia and a number of other pages were restored last Wednesday on direct orders from the Pakistani Prime Minister.
It was reported yesterday (30th May) that Bangladesh became the second country to ban Facebook in protest against the same offensive material.
