Greenpois0n RC5 Bringing iPhone 3G Jailbreak Soon

by Ferman Aziz

iPhone 3G users have some good news from the Chronic Dev Team who just released the Greenpoison RC4 jailbreak. The team has promised that Greenpoison RC5 will support iPhone 3G jailbreak and it’s coming up soon.

Greenpoison RC4 has become massively popular amongst users as it’s a quick and easy to apply jailbreak and supports iPhone 4, iPod Touch 2G/3G/4G, iPad and iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 firmware and beyond. iPhone 3G users complained and demanded a jailbreak for their devices and one of the members of the Chronic Dev Team has responded to a user on Twitter that RC5 will soon bring the answer to their prayers.

Greenpoison jailbreak not only supports all iOS versions, it also doesn’t require a pre-jailbroken device on previous iOS version to work. This makes it more user friendly from other jailbreaks like Redsnow, Geohot etc.

This is not all though. Greenpoison can free you from the shackles of iOS on Windows, Linux and any of OS X. This is a great development as Geohot’s original 4.1 jailbreak worked only for Windows. It is also reported that now Limera1n also supports jailbreaks on Macs but it’s Greenpoison that takes the cake as it is currently supporting the most number of devices and operating systems.

So while iPhone 3G users await the release of Greenpoison RC5, the rest of you can head over to www.greenpoison.com and jailbreak your iOS devices. It is advisable to be careful and backup your baseband and data before you apply the jailbreak to avoid any mishaps.
